how do you guys keep or plan on keeping your money?
we just put ours all together....and are working really hard at building up savings TOGETHER..because although FH hates it, i make a little more than he does and this way it is not my money your money lets spit this blah blah blah because i have more school debt etc.

right now we have a joint checking account for wedding expenses, but we still have our personal accounts. i think we'll join everything together after the wedding...

We have all three! We each have our own accounts and we have a mutual account for bills,rent and what be buy together.
ETA: I like it this way - He doesn't NEED to know EVERYTHING I spend my money on!

we have seperate checking accts and pay our own bills, but we have one joint savings acct and we opened it only for the wedding. once we are married, we wil have one checking acct and one savings acct.

Before the wedding, we had a joint account where we each put the same amount of money to cover all our bills, food, etc., and kept separate accounts as well. After the wedding, we consolidated all of our accounts into one checking and one savings... we're in this together, so there is no mine or his... I had more of a problem adjusting to it than he...

we just opened up joint accounts yesterday.. checking for wedding expenses and savings for any checks we get.
after the wedding we'll throw all our money together but also keep some seperate.. that way we can buy each other things and stuff like that. FH makes more then more so i know i'd feel weird dipping into our account to buy him a birthday present or something.. i'd rather that come out of my money (at least at first).

Same here, well, except maybe the Babylon 5 DVD's. . .those are definitely his!
I still have my own acct, but onlu because I keep forgetting to swithc my direct deposit to our joint acct. I don't use mine for anything.

Us too. I like having my own--I don't feel guilty or like I have to explain myself if I buy yet another coat or another pair of shoes, or feel like he cares if I get a weekly manicure...Likewise, I don't care if he uses 'his' money for poker or going to baseball games or whatever.
