My FH and I live together and don't plan to get a house until after the wedding. I am not having a bridal shower. We would prefer to get money as wedding gifts but some have asked if I have registered. I registered a long time ago hoping that my bp would throw me a shower (wishful thinking). Do I put the registry card with my invites even though we prefer and really need the cash? Thanks ladies.

Re: Monitary wedding gifts
Etiquette-wise, it is never appropriate to include registry information in an invitation. People will find your registry if they look for it. Also, you should tell you family and BP that if anyone asks, you would prefer cash. Word-of-mouth is the best way to let people know what you want.

Very true! I am not registering anywhere. I live with FH and we already have to do a garage sale to sale duplicates.
I let everybody know 'cash' was the most 'useful' gift for us. We have a lot of home improvement to do.

Re: Monitary wedding gifts
I am so sorry sweetie.....
first if people want to get you things off your registry they should search and just send it to you. They should know better than to give that as a wedding gift..
Second: I have never been to a wedding where there were a lot of gifts 98% are envelopes.
Etiquette: don't include where your registered in your wedding invitation.
sorry Mel.

Sorry, you should not put in registry cards into your invites, just spread the info by word of mouth. Also, your wedding is in July right? I would not expect your shower until about April or May. I hope someone has planned a surprise for you. good luck.

No, I would not inlude the registry cards in your invites. But if you prefer cash I would just tell people when they ask that you did not put that much time/effort into creating an extensive registry because you and FH already live together.

I know it wasn't proper! But FH's family keeps asking about it. I read that you don't do that but they kept saying that you do. Thanks, I knew I was right . Case closed
