monogram cake topper question ...

first off, how much are you spending on your crystal monogram cake topper? and where are you buying it from?

i just started looking and i dont know if its worth it to buy it or to make it ... i would rather not make it because im DIY challenged (just because of time) but i would DIY if i was saving a good amount of money. just wondering! thanks

I got mine from AdvantageBridal.com, just got it today and I love it!

i ordered a wooden letter from crafty eddie and crystaled it myself. it was so easy!

total cost = about $25

mine (but an S) for $18.50

I did my own. I got the letters from wrap with us in Syosset for about $4.99 each and bought the rhinestones from AC Moore. It's no where as beautiful as the one's the other ladies posted but I didn't have the extra $$ to buy one professionally made so i had to do my own

ETA: I tried to post a pic but it's too big and i don't know how to resize it but it's in my album under 'DIY'. The last pic of the toppers are the final product after I glued the stones on.

I feel so silly saying this but the whole thing came up to about $13.00. I bought the letters (2) at wrap with us and they were $4.99 each. Then I bought the rhinestones from AC Moore. It was a pack of 120pcs and I only used 2pks total to cover both letters. The stones were on sale of $1.50 (1/2 price) so it oly cost $3.00 total. They are not swarovski(sp?) but they give off a great bling.
I am definitely a budget bride

ETA: I used gem-tac to glue the stones on. I also got it from Ac Moore. Don't remember how much it was but it was only a few $$. So i guess this would really bring my total up to about $16 or $17. LOL

Also, just an fyi if you d use he gemtac glue, jus know that it comes out white but it WILL dry clear. I was in panic mode for a few minutes but then calmed down after a few minutes when it dried.
