For the ladies that made their own Monograms..what program did u use? and were they a pain in the butt to do?

I did some for a friend's baby shower and I just made them using text boxes in Word. After playing around with it for a while, it was simple to do. For the wedding, I am having my DOC do all the paper items b/c I just don't have the time to do everything I want.
