Moon Palace is awesome

Just returned from Moon Palace in Cancun - was there all of last week. The weather was great and the place was amazing, albeit huge. A great value for an all-inclusive. The pools were gorgeous, we had a jacuzzi in our room and a pretty balcony with a hammock. We stayed on the Sunrise side which is nicer. The fancy restaurants were excellent....if anyone is planning a trip here you will not be disappointed. Thanks to AliciaHelene for her recommendation!!

I agree. We stayed there a few years ago and it was awesome!

YEA!!! Im glad you liked it!!! Its a BEAUTIFUL PLACE!!! we stayed on the sunrise side too, right by the beach..it was so great!!! We loved the oriental restaurant..and breakfast at the Italian buffet! YUMMMMMMMM dod ia go to bar by the pool with the swings? that was my favorite place!!! Im glad you had a great time!!!

The Oriental place was our favorite restaurant too - Mo No Hana...the sushi was awesome - as good as NY! We also liked the Spanish restuarant on the other side, Los Caporales. I didnt love the Italian place - I am very picky with my Italian food, but it was decent.

They even had 2 kinds of beers now - Tecate and Dos Equis. I remember you telling me they only offered one. The staff were so great- everything was awesome, I miss it.

How about those Miami Vice and Banana Monkey drinks at the swing bar!! I have pics but havent scanned yet.... I LOVED THE SWING BAR!! THEY HAD ACTUAL SWINGS! So cool......the swim up bars were cool too.

Now I want to go back...there is no place like it! Its only downfall is they only have one beer at the bars! I complained about that..I didndt mind, but Dh hates Dosxx, and that was all they had. but it is an amazing place, the pools are alone are incredible, they seem to go for miles!!! I ate three deserts every day, they were so god! I gained 8 pounds on my honeymoon, but I lost it !!!

They have TWO beers nows...YEA!!!!! Thats great!! We never actually tried the Italian restaurant for the Italian food, we liked it for the breakfast buffet, it was nicer than bambigalos, it was a HUGE buffet! We liked the Spanish reatsuarnt on the other side too, did you go to the fancier one or the one with the pool? We loved the one with the pool, mostly for the atmosphere. I love that place! that swing bar was sooo much fun!!!! Did ya do any tours?

I agree 100%. My DH and I went two summers ago and it was awesome. We had a great time and the place is beautiful.

I ate 3 desserts a day too!! I ate so much....we also went snorkeling at Isla Mujeres and went to Chichen Itza (mayan ruins), we wanted to do the Jungle Tour but didnt have enough time. So, now we have to go back!

The only downfall besides the beer selection was the Moon Palace beach, not too great. So, they totally make up for it with their pools and amenities. But we took the free transportation to another Palace Resort and their beach was awesome ....

Yeah, the beach was ok, but we did the parasilaing off of the pier and used the jet skis, so that was fun! We rented a car and went to Playa Del carmen, their beach is AMAZING, and that town is the cutest Ive ever seen. We did the BOB tour, the little mini scooter on teh bottom of the ocean, yoru head is in the submarine, it was pretty cool, we did the jungle tour, it was fun, but wasnt all that they make it out to be. We did the boat cruise out to isla mujeres, that was AWESOME, my favorite tour. We went for two weeks and I need to go back!! I need to eat more!!

You had alot of time there - I wish we had more...I didnt want to leave. We wanted to do Playa Del Carmen but time was not on our side and it wasnt our honeymoon so we were trying to save $. We plan to go back next yr...

Isla Mujeres was our favorite tour also-- the guys running it were hysterical. They did these dances to songs like Grease and Tequila - while serving drinks and being goofy...it was a party boat - so much fun! My DH loved them. I loved Moon Palace's beach club over there too. Everything was so well-run.

Oh Im getting so jealous!! we did the party boat too, to the island and then there is a show right? We went for mexican night, the guys rrunning it were crazy, so much fun! Would do that tour in a second!!! The club was fun too, in Moon Palace, we spent many many hours there, great music, met so many fun people, then saw them the next day at breakfast, every body hungover!

Playa Del carmen is where we will stay the next time, they have such cool hotels, we checked rates while we were there and some were only 85 US a night!!! And the restaurants there are like eating in a tree house, Cozumel is only an hour away by ferry, but we didnt get a chance to do that. We didnt realize were so close to Playa Del Carmen until our trip was just about over, so we want to go back for more!!! I love Mexico!

DH did karaoke (embarassing!) one night in the Club Andromedas - we went there alot too....oh so much fun....I need another vacation!!!!

haha Karoake!! what did he sing??? they didnt have that the nights we were there..if they did I dont remember it! May have been all those all inclusive drinks!!!! I need another vacation too!!!

I'm glad you both mentioned the beach...(I was going to ask) I always heard that it was to seaweedy.... Glad you had a wonderful vacation...by both those descriptions I want to go away now!!!

Hi! I actually didnt find the beach seaweedy, just small..it didnt stop us from laying out though and enjiying it!!! The other palace resorts have bigger beaches, but Moon Palace was fine..I actually enjoyed the pool more because the have chairs you can lay out on that keep your feet in the water, so you are always cool. I am very WHITE and I burn easy and get dizzy easily If i get too hot. Ima pain in the as$. They play music and the waitress brings you your drink...what more could ya want!

He sang Just a Gigalo, DLR version - its kind of his song...he does it everywhere, he even did a little song and dance to it at our wedding late in the night.

The beach was seaweedy when we were there and sort of small too - the sand was fine. They had lots of activities - parasailing and jetskis. Most people did those rather than swim. The color was not that gorgeous turquoise blue/green but we got to see that by going to Cancun Palace further up the strip. Moon Palace is sort of secluded with no hotels around it.

The pools rocked. I will scan some pics in soon if i can. I loved the chairs in the water - they had these fountains coming out of the arms to keep you cool. I am a dark complexion and I love the sun!
