More aggrevation

More aggrevation

My mom and dad went to get my dad measured for his tux yesterday. Apparently my dad wants to wear a tie that matches my mom's burgandy dress. I wanted both dads to be in a black vest, black tie. I just think it will look sharp and nice in pics. But ok, then the groom's dad will wear a turq. vest to match the MOG dress. My mom says, can't daddy look different? he's the father of the bride, he should look different.

If I do that, the pics will look weird. why is one dad wearing a colored tie and the other isnt? and won't my FIL want to wear a colored tie then?????

Honestly, why does something so friggin simple have to cause so much aggrevation??? It's a tux for pete's sake. Everyone will KNOW he is the father of the bride, he is walking me down the friggin aisle. He has to look different?????

My mom says it's my dad who wants it but it isn't, I can almost guarantee you.

What about a black tie and a bout that matches your moms dress?

We had ur dad's in black vests with a similar pattern, but the accenting color in the vest matched MOB & MOG respectively. They both had black ties. We thought it looked really good!

Just an option for you to think about and might be a compromise.

I wanted everyone in black originally, but the father's really should match the mother's. It looked really nice to have my parents matching each other.

Is it really that big of a deal if he doesn't wear a black tie?

We are having the dads match the moms.

It's your day......do what is best for you.

My parents picked my dad's tux and FILs picked FFIL's tux. I'm letting them pick the colors they want as long as they don't match the BP.

I would prefer both dads in black, but if that's a huge deal for my dad, i'm ok with BOTH dads matching the moms. However, my mom is making a big deal about that - why can't ONLY my dad match my mom, and my FFIL be in black?

I think it would weird for one to match and the other to just be in black, don't you?

OMG i thought I was the only one going through a tux issue. My father - major PITA aka dadzilla, wants to wear his own tux- mind you it was only going to cost him 50 bucks. SO he brings his tux down to the tux shop and the guy said your the father of the bride- do what you want!!!!!! So now they are letting him borrow the shirt, vest and tie for free. So annoying- not that I care what his tux looks like it was just the point of him bringing his tux down there to prove a point!!

I feel your pain!!!!!!!!

I agree. Tell your mom how you really feel-it's mostly the way it will look in pictures. Not that you don't want your dad not to stand out. Good luck-I know how family can stress you out in those last few weeks.
