More DIY Projects w/ Pics

Original post by FutureMrsM

I finished some more DIY Projects over the past couple of days so I figured I'd post some pics. Here are our finished programs and our cardbox, I have a couple of more things to do to the cardbox, but you get the idea. We also finished wrapping all of our bubbles last night and finished wrapping our favors. I'll post pics of that stuff this weekend.

Your card box is very pretty. Was it hard to make one? Did it take you a long time?

Thank you! It wasn't hard and didn't take long (mostly because I kept it simple). I bought the box at AC Moore, the fabric and the lace with the pearls on it from Joann's and the ribbon and pearls from Michael's. After I cut the card slot in the box I used spray/aerosol glue to adhere the fabrice to the top and bottom of the box, I used my EZ glue tape runner to attach the ribbon. Then I made the big bow for the top and attached it to the ribbon already on the box. The pearls already had a glue/sticky back to them so I just had to put them on. That's it. The part that took the longest was getting all the materials from the different stores. All in all I think it cost $25 bucks to make it and an evening of my time... not bad for someone who isn't really crafty

I was just going to comment on how pretty your cardbox looks! Did you get the spray/aerosol glue from Joann's? I have to go there to get fabric for my cardbox and that sounds like the best way to adhere it to the box. What is EZ glue tape runner? I was planning on using a hot glue gun but those things are messy.

Thank you!!! You are so sweet! I bought the spray/aerosol glue at AC Moore, it's by Elhmer's and it's not the kind that dries real quick so if you need to make adjustments you can do so without messing anything up (make sure on the back that it says it works for fabrics). The EZ glue tape runner is available at AC Moore, MIchael's, Joann's and many websites. It's kind of like a white out corrector tape dispenser except it dispenses strips of little pieces of glue that took like tape (I tried other brands and trust me this is the best one!) It is usually sold with the scrapbooking materials and it's about $5 or $6 dollars per dispenser, I have bought 3 dispensers for my favor tags, RD invites, programs, cardbox and menus, trust me a little bit goes a long way. Feel free to fm with any other questions

Thanks so much everyone! I had no idea that everyone would like these so much :) I am even more excited now For anyone who would like me to send them the insert for the programs just FM me your email address. The insert is in MS Word. For the outside of the program, sorry, I don't have a template. For questions on the cardbox, again, feel free to FM me I'd be happy to share any info/tips that I have, and boy do I have a lot! I'm not a very experienced DIY'er so please, learn from my mistakes! Don't waste time an money!!!! Thanks again ladies! Anyone who FM'd me their email address, I will start forwarding the program templates in the morning

Oh, almost forgot, someone asked where I bought the sparkly paper/cardstock all papers/cardstocks (brown, gold and ivory) metallics were purchased from www.paper-papers.com.
