I had my makeup trial done and paid $50....She used fake lashes but had the full band as opposed to individual ones. They felt heavy. When I texted her to see if she has individual lashes she said yes & we can try them. I also asked if we can try another eyeshadow....but never thought she would charge me more $$ - she is saying that it will be $30 for the individual lashes and shadow demo. IS THIS REASONABLE??? I dont want to have a bad relationship with her...should I just pay & bite my tongue or try to negotiate?

I think this is ridiculous. I didn't like the eyeshadow color or eyelashes the MUA did for me and she wanted to charge me full price for another trial. She will also only do trials on Sun mornings so it's not like I can pay for a trial and actually have somewhere good to go after so it's just a waste. The trial is also $75. Needless to say, i didn't get another one and I'm going with someone else.

In my opinion, Individual lashes seem like a hefty job and tedious too! And to me the eyeshadow make up half the 'portrait'. I think it seems pretty reasonable.

Thanks girls. I asked if we can atleast do it on Friday as I'm also getting my hair trial and going out for a friend's bday so at least I'll have somewhere to go cos she wanted to do it tomorrow night at 7 - whats the point to pay $30 to just take it all off in a few hours?

You need to feel comfortable. If you dont feel comfortable with the MUA then maybe try someone else. I know that individual lashes take a bit to put on.

Yeah I'll see how it looks with individual lashes - I did like the way she did my makeup, plus she's 5 min away from my house & I won't have to worry about her being late

Quality eyelashes cost money, so subtract at least $10-15 from whatever she's doing to you, and paying $10-15 for someone to do your make-up is definitely reasonable. I definitely prefer the individual lashes too!
