This is an update from my hair extension post last week.
The good news! After searching and making some phone calls I figured out where to buy the extensions. (Yay, happy about that). So on Monday I go to the store and take a look and find out how expensive they are. Prices are somewhat reasonable but I needed to talk to my hair person to figure out exactly what kind I need.
And now the bad news. The reason the stylist couldn't point me in the right direction is because she doesn't really work with extensions. The only reason why she mentioned it was if I already had them in my hair she would be able to work with them. She said that the reason why she mentioned the place at the mall was so i could see what the clip ons looked like in my hair. I was a little annoyed because if she couldn't do it, I don't think she should have even mentioned it to me. It kinda put my hopes up.
So now I need to decide should I find someone else that can do extensions OR should I just stick to the woman I was already planning on working with?
My mother thinks I should find someone else (even though this is her hair person). One possibility is the woman that works at the store I went to. She mentioned she does Hair AND makeup. Prices for the BM's are reasonable but it was a little more than I wanted to spend on myself.

I know,as soon as she mentioned doing extensions I was so convinced I wanted to do them. I'd be able to do the curls I want to even though my hair is on the shorter side.
The funny thing was the woman in the store was trying to convince me I should skip them because my hair would be long enough. I was like huh, you're trying to convince me to NOT give you business?
Who do you use?

Odd - but I can appreciate the honesty of the extension lady!
I emailed her when I first read your post - I use Daniella at the Lemon Tree...she's a doll. I went to High School with her - she graduated with my brother! My mom has used her for YEARS...

Also whats so odd about it is that my hair is barely shoulder length and extremely thin. I don't think it will grow much more than 3 inches...maybe to my shoulders by the time of the wedding. I think thats short especially when my hair was to my waste nearly 6 onths ago.
I went to Lemon Tree out here recently. They are definetely reasonable.
Let me know what she says...did she do both hair and makeup for your trial?

Are you using your extensions for just day of? If not find someone who can put them in a week or so before and then stay with the stylist you are comfortable with for the day of.

Re: More hair frustrations
That is a tough one. I would say try to find another stylist that works with extensions. I know it is a bit more money but if you really want them it's better to have someone that knows what they are doing. Maybe Jess recommendation will work out for you. Good Luck!

I was thinking about this....getting them put in on Friday/Sat for the rehearsal and hope they would stay on until Sunday. but from what I was told they might only last a day or so so it might not be worth it.
I'm nervous that if I spend the money, it won't matter.
