More invitation stress

More invitation stress

We ordered 100 invites. Every vendor we met with before we ordered told us 100 would be plenty based on the amount of guests we were expecting (150).

Well, guess what. We need 113.

My invites were ordered by my vendor without them even telling me explicitly ok, we are sending the order, and the company that prints them won't give me a discount for an additional 25 invites. I have to go back to base pricing.

How much do they want for 25 invites?

OVER. SIX. HUNDRED. DOLLARS.

That's half of what we already spent on 100 and we were already way over our budget, but we couldn't find anything else we liked.

I'm so pissed right now.

The problem is I'm using a retailer who uses an outside vendor. So the company that makes the invite, checkerboard, doesn't deal with the public, only with contracted retailers. I tried to cpeak to checkerboard... theyw oudln't talk to me. I spoke to my retailer, who called checkerboard and she said checkerboard won't provide a discount. So I spoke to everyone I could speak to

can you just DIY the extra 13 invites and make sure that the people that receive those are 'less important' (all your co-workers, for example)?

good luck

i would try to get teh store to give you some sort of discount

im sure they're still getting a heavy markup on checkerboard's invites

tell them because they didnt notify you that your invites were being ordered this was their fault and therefore they should eat the profit (or at least most of it)

This is what I would do. Thats crazy to pay that much for 113 invites.

Re: More invitation stress

I would just order entirely different invites and give them to people who would never cross paths with the receivers of the original. OOTers and coworkers.

I would do this. I wouldn't spend that much money especially that its more than you spent on the rest of the invites. I would either order different ones or DIY.

So sorry you're dealing with this hun!

What is your vendors reasoning?

Seems they are at fault if you didn't tell them to go ahead.

Sorry you are dealing with this.

this is what i did... my dad gave me a list of about 10 more couple he wanted ( and i didn't have invites for) so i DIY the extras .. no one new the difference, pick people you don't think will pay much attention to the invites lol like FH's friends or something

Re: More invitation stress

Thanks girls...

It was a miscommunication. I don't think my vendor communicated to me properly, or reminded me properly, about how or when the order would be placed in relation to my proof adjustments.

And the people who print the invites are just being douchebags. I love my invites, but I would never let them print for me again out of principle.

We are either going to DIY or try to combine invites... we might be able to pare it down enough but our invites are so gorgeous I just hate to not let everyone receive one. SUCKS!!!!
