Any recommendations on baby bathtubs? And how about bottle warmers? I'm thinking the bottle warmer is probably a waste of time/money, but I'd love to know if anyone uses it.
I feel so panicked! I know nothing about feeding, bathing, ANYTHING!?!? I hope I get the hang of it all quickly! Thanks for your help!

Re: More questions for the Moms!!
I have to say, I would NEVER have bought a bottle warmer, but we received one from DH's cousin. and I LOVEEE IT !!! Go for it, get one ! My MIL just bought us the one that plugs into the car. Im excited !!
As far as the bath, I bought a gorgeous baby bathtub at IKEA for $4, and I registered for the baby cushion at BabiesRus. Heres the link to that:
I absolutely LOVEEE IT !! This way the baby doesnt squirm out of your arms and you dont feel bad putting him her directly onto a cold tub. I LOVE this cushion !

Re: More questions for the Moms!!
I didnt get a bath tub for Emma. I bought a pad that she sat on in the tub. It was like $14 sold at babies r us. It worked great. You only use the tub for a couple months. Personally I didnt think it was worth the $. I also breastfed so no advice on bottle warmers. Sorry I would recommend a diaper wipes warmer though. There is something about a cold wipe on a little hiney.
You will get the hang of everything. Dont worry. After a couple weeks it will all be second nature. You will be a great mom!!!

Re: More questions for the Moms!!
Well, I will be breastfeeding but will have to return to work for a couple of weeks, so I'm wondering about warming the breastmilk that I pump when I'm at work...since it's only for a little while maybe it's not worth it.

Be carefully with the wipe warmer. It can dry out your wipes very quickly and then you are just wasting $$$.

Re: More questions for the Moms!!
We bought the Eurobath Tub at babies r us -- It got the best ratings- and we love it ! It is just a plastic tub -- no inserts or anythign for the baby to slip on . It is very sturdy and now that he is sitting up he loves it !! it is a little big -- but we just stick it in the closet.

Michele - I bought the wrap around one. It hasnt dried out the wipes as long as you remember to close the lid.

Re: More questions for the Moms!!
I am LMAO at some of these answers b/c we are all so different in terms of which products we use. My advice to the Moms-to-be: ask A LOT of different people for advice b/c everyone will point out something different.
My personal opinion on wipe warmers - waste of money. The wipes do dry out (in the warmer) and they are not that cold to begin with. If you never use a warmer, the baby will never know the difference anyway.
Also - bottle warmers....big waste of money also. We bought one by The First Years, and I used it twice. I immediately brought the **** thing back b/c it didn't work! I have found that a tupperware bowl filled with warm tap water is the best method for warming a bottle. It has never failed me - and I have never been someplace that I didn't have access to a sink and warm water. Save your money for something else!
Regarding a bathtub...I had been told NOT to get one while I pregnant, but my MIL purchased one for us. I absolutely LOVE the tub, and it has proved to be very practical and useful as Paul is growing. It's a Safety First 4-in-1 tub with a bath sling (similar to the foam pads that the other Moms mentioned). We have traveled with the 'sling' part and it makes it very easy to bathe the baby in a full sized tub - either in a hotel room, or in someone's house. You cannot travel w/a foam pad b/c it take a long time to dry.
Now that Paul is sitting up on his own, we don't use the sling. He now sits in the bath ring and plays with his toys and splashes. It can fit in the full size tub, and that makes me more secure b/c you can easily lose control over a squirming infant in a full size tub.
Here's the one I have:

Re: More questions for the Moms!!
My SIL lent me her Avent bottle warmer and I thought it was a waste-I was glad I never registered for one.
Wipes warmer I registered for, got as a gift but returned. I read the insert and it was a bunch of directions on adding water if it dries the wipes out and how you can use the wipes even if they are 'slighly discolored' - Yuck! I know I'd throw the discolored ones away and probably waste alot so I didn't keep it. I dont think the wipes are very cold to begin with - holding it between your hands for a moment can take the chill off just as easy. JMO

Re: More questions for the Moms!!
My mom made us by a wipes warmer. She giulted me into it. Waste of 20 bucks down the drain. Dont bother.
The bottle warmer is not necessary either (IMO). We would boil water at night and fill up a container with the water. We made the bottles as needed and used the water at room temp. I recommend that. My mom heated all Geno's bottles when he was first born. You know how long it took me to get him to take a bottle at room temp?!! It was alot of fun sitting at the mall or in the car or in the airport with a screaming baby who wont take his bottle cause it's not heated!!
I have the same tub as Claud. I love it as well. Even if Geno hates getting a bath!!

Re: More questions for the Moms!!
Never used a bottle warmer. I feel I worked quicker without them. How long does it take to warm the bottle up with those warmers?
The bathtub picture that claud posted was similiar to the one I had for Billy, cant remember the name of it but those are GREAT. I think its a must have. Registering is so much fun! Enjoy it
