More recent scrapbook pages
Here are a few more pages I've recently finished. These are different for me - I joined up with Lifetime Moments' club that sends monthly scrapbooking kits. The paper and colors were very different from what I'd normally choose so I found myself struggling at first using the dark geometrics and bold colors.
I'm pretty happy with the results, and loved having to push my creative limits. I'm especially happy with the Tide Pools layout. I had first intended to use the dark teal blue papers in the kit, but found this bright yellowy-green was perfect - with the sunshine bursts and great contrast that really makes the photos POP.

Don't give up! Keep trying and it will become easier. Look for some of the scrapbook kits that have coordinated papers and embellishments. You can also 'scraplift' something you see in a magazine. Simple Scrapbooks magazine has some excellent simple layouts that don't use the more advanced techniques.
I saw an article in Creating Keepsakes and they showed a major scrapbook celebrity's early pages and you would have been surprised at how amaturish they were. By the way, I have my bachelors and masters in Art, and have had hours of classes on design, color, etc. so I had a head start when I started scrapping. Keep working at it - your layouts will get better!

Great pages! How do you get the lettering on the 2nd page - you put the paper through your printer or are they stick ons? I love it.

Thanks! I printed right on the paper. My anniversary present from DH was a printer that would print 12' wide paper
Mobe stamps makes a rubber stamp in that font too - I think they carry it at Lifetime Moments' website.

Thanks! I have an Epson 1280 that I bought online though I've since seen them at Best Buy. Epson makes a newer model, the 2200 I think, but it's almost twice the price. I think the going price now for the 1280 is around $399 and $699 for the 2200. I think Canon makes a 12' printer too, but I've had a couple of Epsons over the year and I like them a lot.
