After being rejected by both teaching fellows and teach for america....and crying myself to sleep last night...I could not help but to think and think about FH's future and mine... I decided to call him and I was trying to call off our wedding because I realized that we do need 2 incomes even though FH is well off at his job I wouldn't want to just go to school and not work. I wast telling him how I want him to follow his dreams like I know he wants a house and because of this we might not be able I love him very much I was willing to let go of him as I tried to mentioned that I was trying to call of our wedding I think he got the hint and immediately said to me ' BABY are you trying to call off our wedding' my heart started beating faster and faster and I just couldn't go on with this. He was soo sweet and tried to comfort me saying that we are in this together and how we will make it work. He told me he doesn't mind that I got to grad school and have a part time job in the mean time (the plan was that I was supposed to be have a full time teaching job) I guess some things are not meant to be but last night after hearing FH being so supportive and telling me beautiful things I just can't wait to marry that man and I feel lucky that I have someone like him by my side so the plan is...Go to grad school for my education masters and work with my sociology degree in the meantime. I feel kind of better about this still a bit down but FH just gave me back my confidence. Just thought I'd shared this with you ladies. If you ever think that a problem like mine or any other is a reason to run off a relationship NO TRUE...there are always ways to work it out....PLEASE take my advice before doing something you might regret...this is all ladies Have a great day.

Your Fh sounds like a great catch! You can totally still have the wedding of your dreams, just have to watch the budget. There are girls on here (check out the review board) who have had weddings for $10k!!!! Good Luck gloria!

just hang in there it will all work out in the end. i am very nervous about being able to find a job after graduating. & since we decided to have the wedding in april i wont even be at the job for a year prior to getting married. but i realized last night that i don't need a house right away. as long as i don't have to live in a card board box for the first couple of years everything should be good.

Please remember that the economy is incredibly tough right now, and not having a full time job is NO reflection on your worth or your future. I did my BA and MA in five years while working two part time jobs and keeping my own apartment. It was VERY difficult. Life is just crazy sometimes, but remembering that you have a great man in your life AND that you are worth it helps alot. Now, what you can do to get you 'IN' in teaching is to substitute first or work for a private company. What is your degree in? Which area of education?
