I will be 7 weeks tomorrow and a few days ago IT HIT!!! I have been nauseous ALL DAY!! I have read that it is important to eat small meals all day long rather than a couple of big meals, but it is difficult even to think of food!
Any suggestions from moms who have been through it? any recommendations on what to eat??
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Edited to take out the ICON--it doesn't work!!

Re: Morning Sickness!
Oh Neda... I feel for you...I totally remember that feeling. It hit me between 7-8 weeks also.
The best advice I can give is to eat the small meals b/c (based on my experience) whenever my stomach got too empty, that's when the nausea kicked in. So, as long as you have something in your tummy, you should be okay.
Eat what appeals to you and don't try anything that has a strong smell. If it hasn't already, your nose will soon become hyper sensitive to any smell.
Best wishes to you for a healthy pregnancy.

Re: Morning Sickness!
Oh boy, I remember this time very clearly!! Mine lasted from weeks 6 to 13. I had nausea 24/7, never vomitted though.
I agree eat small meals. I ate all the time, and craved comforting carbs like potatoes and mac & cheese. I'm Indian, but the smell of any strong spices like curry did not sit well at all.
I went through a box of saltines in that time, but I really just nibbled them. I kept the pack open on my desk all day at work, and just took small bites.
Good luck!!

Believe it or not saltines just gave me dry heaves! I drank ALOT of water!!! Also I'd eat solid stuff! I remember at first all I can eat was fruit! THAT'S IT! Stick with what you can! And just know IT WILL PASS!!

Re: Morning Sickness!
Hey Neda, I had it too, I think it was the 6th and 7th week and it was just nausea I didn't throw up. My doctor gave me the same advice: 'eat small meals all day long' I was thinking, what the hell is small meals I don't know how to eat like that, when your hungry you eat, but someone else said to keep your tummy full and that's probably the best advice.
I had more trouble with heartburn than anything else and all I did was drink something carbonated to make me burp and that helped.
Now at almost 13 weeks I feel like I have a tapeworm!!!

Re: Morning Sickness!
I second the eatting of carbs. Yes they may make you gain weight (I gained 15lbs cause of it but I wasnt as sick) but when you cant do anything but wanna yack it helps!!!! Avoid anything foul smelling... I went into a fish market when I was about 10 weeks and had to leave I felt so awful!!! Good luck. It gets better!!!

I feel for you! I had the same thing - all nausea all the time, but never sick. Definitely keeping something in your stomach helps as does eating anything that appeals to you. I wouldn't worry too much about what you eat - just stick to anything you can keep down. For me I could not get enough fruit - it was refreshing when I felt so lousy. And pizza (strangely enough). One other thing that helped me immensely - ****ing on Jolly Rancher watermelon flavored hard candy -- it really really solved the nausea problem for me. Other people have recommended lemon drops for the same reason...see what appeals to you! Good luck and remember, as everyone said, it will definitely pass!

Re: Morning Sickness!
Thank you so much everyone for your suggestions! I know that I am not the only person going through this, but right now it really seems like I am all alone! IT HELPS SO MUCH to know that others have gone through it! My DH has been aweome, but he has no idea what I am going through!
SALTINES have been a lifesaver! I keep them by the bed and have some before I get up in the morning to curb the nausea!!
thanks again---------I'm sure I will be back with more questions soon!!

Re: Morning Sickness!
Poor girl I feel for you! I was lucky. I didn't really have out & out MS - nausea yes but not MS.
Try hard candy -lollypops, life savers, etc. It helped me with the nausea. Sour is good too. I had lemon drops candy that I had in my bag at all times. I've even heard the suggestion of slurping on a lime. Anything's worth a shot for relief I guess.
Hang in there. Soon enough you will be in the more enjoyable second trimester.
edited to add: I didn't want to describe it as 'slurping on a lime' but I guess the system considers the word I originally used in place of 'slurping' to be unacceptable, I couldn't post it. Well, I think you get what I mean anyway.
