So FH and I just refinanced our mortgage through our bank. The first time we got our mortgage through a mortgage broker who was awesome. Anyway, this time we did it on our own and so here's my situation. We paid $44 total for two separate credit reports - fine. Now we called the bank to get a copy of the reports and they told us no. They said it was their policy not to give it out and suggested that we order a copy through the various agencies out there. Hello! I just paid for one for you to use - why should I not be entitled to a copy?
So....first am I really not entitled to a copy and second how would you suggest I persue this if I am entitled?
Thanks!

Re: Mortgage Process - Credit Report Question
I used to do mortgages...we weren't allowed to give them out either. If a customer came to my office to close, I could show it to them, just couldn't give them a copy. I'm not sure if every place has this policy though.

Re: Mortgage Process - Credit Report Question
We were not able to get a copy of our credit report either, they wouldnt even tell us the score. They told our RE agent it was good (in the 700's) but we were so mad, how can you pay for something and not be entitled to see it!

I posted the same thing in her other thread. You aren't entitled to see it because you weren't the one that ordered it. It doesn't matter who paid. And in actuality... you didn't pay for it. The bank paid the credit report agency directly... no? You just paid the bank.
