Most authentic Laua in Hawaii...

Can anyone share their experiences on Luau's in Hawaii? We are going on a cruise around the islands for 7 days and staying in Ohau for 5. We plan on leavin Ohau and going to other islands...

I would like to hit one luau while we are there, but I want to make sure its authentic.

Suggestions?? Ideas???

Samantha Brown from Travel channel did a bunch of hawaii shows. There was one where she went to a luau and said it was supposedly the most authentic. Ill try to google it and find it for you!

I think its the luau they do at the Polynesian Cultural Center.

Yes this is the best one - keep in mind there is NO alchole at this Luau.

I went to Paradise Cove In Sept where they do serve - But we hated the experience!
The food was awful, liquor is watered down very crowded and it also was a bit 'cheesy'

Best part is the sunset on the beach!
Worst part is the fried Pig they bring up from the ground. (part of the tradition)

I went there for vaca 3 yrs ago and did the Polynesian Cultural Center really enjoyed it and it's a whole day sort of thing. They have different demonstrations throughout, a sort of parade thing with people from all the diff. islands, the luau and a night show. I really enjoyed it theres a lot to see!

There are a lot of choices like the royal hawaiian luau, germaine's luau, paradise cove luau, and the polynesia cultural center. You can try any of those places and they all located in Ohau.

I lived in Hawaii for a year, and my favorite was Paradise Cove...the Polynesian Cultural Club does not serve any alcohol, and what's a luau without a mai tai??
