MOST MEANINGFUL BRIDAL SHOWER GIFT.

I was wondering what was your most meaningful bridal shower gift.

Today was my bridal shower, it was amazing..it was at the Country House and everyone was raving about everything from the food to the decor! It was truly a blast!

Anyways...I was brought to tears today...my great aunt gave me this crystal dish that was given to my grandmother and grandfather for their wedding, and after they died, the dish was given to my great aunt. Out of all the children in the family, she was saving it for me because I was named after my grandmother, and my grandfather and I were so close. I never met my grandmother, she died when my mother was just 19years old, but I was named after her, and I've been told that I'm like her in every way.

It's just so wonderful to have something that's a part of their lives!!!!!!!!!!!

That's beautiful, Kathy. I was named after my late grandfather, so I understand the connection you feel to your grandmother. I haven't had my shower yet, but I think my most meaningful gift will always be my e-ring, and not just because it is my e-ring. The stones in my ring are around 100 years old. FH received a family heirloom ring passed down from his father's family for a few generations. The ring was a big (ugly) cocktail ring form ealry 1900's. FH took stones out of the ring and had a new ring made up just for me. So it is still partly the heirloom that it was, and it means the world to me that he wanted to pass this gift on to me.

That's amazing, I really couldn't say that I got anything that meaningful at the shower, mostly just registry items. That is such a great heirloom though. You will always treasure that.

Kathy you just gave me the chills. I think there is nothing more beautiful than giving a gift that someone really looks into a meaning than just looking at a registery. And it will be something you will never forget!
