My mom's name is number one in 'white'

She hates going to the store and always see's 'J U L I E' and not 'J U L I A'

Oh she'll be so happy to see that as number one on the list

I'm so upset to see Olivia on the top 10 - if I had known that I wouldn't of picked it.

Re: Most Popular Baby Names in NYC

After growing up with JENNIFER for a name ( ), I am trying to pick less heard of names for my lima bean.

So far we like:
Girls
Alessia
Diandra
Aislinn
Farren
Marisa (Mar-ee-sa)

Boys
Blake
Caden
Trevor
Keiran
and Patrick likes Nicholas, but I have a Nicholas in my class this year who is ****ing my will to live, so we'll have to see about that one.

Anna - you know why we stay traditional w/boys names more than girls? Because boys would get the livin' $hit kicked out of them on the playground if they have a trendy little frilly name - think about it - it's true!

Yep very true. My BIL, Claudio, has told us oohhh, some not so nice story of his name being made fun of

In my family, we have some of the most traditional Italian names: Carmine, Attilio, that were always made fun of growing up!

Jenn - can I offer a suggestion? Have you thought of using Blake as a girls name? I love that.

I also like Marissa and Kieran

Re: Most Popular Baby Names in NYC

I LOVE the idea of Blake as a girl's name! Thank you!!!!!

Now I just have to run it by Patrick...

Anna, Alessia is my #1 first choice girl name. Patrick likes Alessandra better, but I'm going to FIGHT!

Alessandra is on my top list I cant decide between Luciana Alessandra or using each of those as their own name.

Mom gets priority, tell Patrick !

Re: Most Popular Baby Names in NYC

I did not even have to look to see our sons name. I knew that it was not going to be popular. That's a tradition in my family. (Unique names) Althoug my name is way more common than it used to be, or so it seems.
As for picking the name for our son we could not agree for anything. But shortly after I gave birth they came in to fill out his birth certificate, Frank was soo overwhelmed by what I just went through he never even made an effort to disagree with the name I chose!!
