Hi everyone! This is my first time posting a topic on here and I really need help. My FH's Mom passed away this Jan. and we are stuck what to do about the mother son dance. His Grandmother is still with us but she is older and uses a walker, I also thought of just playing a song for her and leaving the dance floor empty but that seems too sad. Any and all ideas are welcome. FH's idea is just to do nothing but, it seems wrong to just leave her unacknowledged. PLEASE HELP!!!

Re: Mother and son dance.
Is there someone else that he is close to? Is there any aunt (mother's sister)? Or does he have a sister?
I went to a wedding where the Bride danced with her mother since her father had passed away. She then danced with her brother. The Groom danced with his two grandmothers since his mother had passed away.

Unfortunately he doesn't have a sister or an Aunt. Which is part of the reason I a drawing a blank.

Maybe you could have a special song play during dinner in her honor. Or you can have a memory candle instead.

Re: Mother and son dance.
you can always ask the dj to cut the song short so she doesnt have to stand so long. and just choose a really song song that she can stand and sway back and forth to.

Did FH's mom have a favorite song? Maybe the DJ could play her favorite song as a dedication and he can ask everyone to come to the dance floor to dance to the song in order to honor her.

Re: Mother and son dance.
I agree with your FH. Im sure you can incorporate his mother some other way. I know for my gma i am going to wear her braclet and i already have the diamond from her e-ring in mine. I am probably also going to have a picture of her on my table. I know my cousin had wedding shots of her grandparents who werent there and had a note and a candle for them
my dads in a wheelchair and my mom passed away when I was younger so I'm doing a video montage of me and my dad as I was growing up and playing a song during that.
