I spent 7 days in FL with FMIL (just the two of us) before she was even my FMIL!! We get along great, I love her (but not as much as my own Mommy of course)!

Re: Mother-In-Law
I get along with FMIL. She's so nice, how can anyone not? I come from such a different family than my FHs. His mom & sisters are so lovey and affectionate. The older sisters call their parents every night!

You are so lucky that you get along with your FMILs. I dont. She has said some not so nice things about me in the past. And his sister is another story. FH is not talking to her and doesnt plan on talking to her any time soon!

Re: Mother-In-Law
I think I was intimidated by her at 1st - she has a very simaliar personality to my Mother.
I like her allott - and I love the way she raised her son

It's hard to communicate b/c there's a bit of a language barrier. But she's a nice lady. I like her. She's nice to me and she always feeds me She's happy that I am a good eater.

Re: Mother-In-Law
My FMIL passed away this past Father's Day. While we weren't close but we definitely had no problems, I respected her and the hard times she had (FH's father passed away when he was 10 yrs old and he was the youngest of five kids). For everyone who complains about their FMIL/MIL's, try to keep it in perspective. Don't mean to be preachy at all but every time I read complaints, it gets me thinking ...

I don't fall into any of the poll categories...She's OK, but I don't respect her (because of things she's done, or allowed to be done to my FH when he was younger)

I love her dearly, and get along with her very while. I have to admit that living with her for the last 6 months has been a little bit trying at times, but overall things are good. I think once we get our own place things will be even better.

Re: Mother-In-Law
My MIL lives in another country so we don't see each other very often and when I do see her, she is on vacation. We do get along. We are very similar (a little scary) and she acts younger than us! Last time she came, she went out dancing every night and came home at 3:00 am!!

Re: Mother-In-Law
We got along great in the beginning but know things are different, it seems ever since FH and I got engaged. She blew up at me once and things haven't been the same since! Too bad it would be easier if everyone got along. We are pleasent to each other but not close, don't feel so comfortable around her anymore.

I get along better with my FMIL than with my own mom. I am very lucky.
