Mother-in-Law

I like my future MIL. I just dont know her that well. I mean I know her and we talk when theres family functions or bbqs or what have you. But, Ive never spent time with her alone like to go for coffee or something. Do you guys think I should make a date with her to bond a little bit more? And if anyone has any ideas let me know. I just feel weird calling her out of the blue.

Yes you should definately make the first move ... Because sometimes they are probably expecting you to.... call her and invite her out when you have something to do for the wedding and just simply say 'I was wondering if you werent busy if you would like to join me' and then it looks like your including her in the wedding too and at the same time you guys get to bond.

You could include her in some wedding planning...go to a showcase or something with her.

I agree...FMIL and I had some bonding time over pics of dresses in magazines and talking about my wedding dress. Take her to starbucks with a stack of bridal magazines and bond!

Def meet with and spend more time with her, Just think that you are going to be her DIL soon so you will be seeing her more often. Def go see her and im sure he would love to go and get to know you better.

Go for it. My FMIL drives us crazy, I wish I had a MIL that was cool. My Xboyfriend's mother and I are still friends I'm even inviting her to my wedding. So I know it's not me.

Yes, its nice to have a cool MIL. Speaking of ex bf's mothers, I was VERY close to my ex's mom-i mean hes another story but his mom is so cool real laid back down to earth type. I am wondering if i should invite her to the wedding.

I think you should definitly call her to go out for lunch or something.... Dont be worried about making the first move, I think she will apperciate it & it would make a really good impression (not that you need too)
