My future mother in law has told my FI that she is not coming to the wedding. This is steming from January. To make a long story short, My shih tzu had a litter and I was selling them. FI's mother went and told one of her friends who wanted a dog that she would give her one of mines for free at my expense. She called me one day to say I have a friend who needs a dog and you will GIVE ME ONE FOR FREE. I told her no, because she had no right to tell that to her friend. Because of this she is not speaking to me. We live in the same apt bldg. I have tried to be the bigger person and I speak. But, she will not respond. She literally ignores me.
Do I still keep speaking? Or do I just stop? If she is going to act in this manner. I don't want her to spoil my wedding day.

You should be the bigger person and just keep trying. Eventually she will give in and just start talking again. Besides, you have over 2 years till your wedding....I am sure that things will smooth over by then so dont even worry about her spoiling your wedding day.

I agree - Keep on speaking to her - even though you may be tired of being ignored - hopefully she'll realize sooner or later that she's acting like a child and buckle, How does you FH feel about the situation? Maybe he can speak to her,
As far as the wedding goes you have 2 years Im sure things will be different - if not it will be unfourntante - but you don't need those type of negative people in your life anyway.
Just be paitent & kind - I hope everything works out

I'm sure everything will work out by the time of the wedding. Keep talking to her & eventually she'll give in. Is FH talking to her about talking to you?

Re: MOTHER IN LAW DRAMA
LISTEN all families cause drama TRUST ME!!!! LOL.
When it comes to his family the best advice I can give you is to keep trying only b/c they can't come back and say well you stopped talking to me. Write her a really nice email just to push it in her face (that's what I did).
My future MI caused A RIOT & A HALF because we didn't tell her that we were putting our engagement notice in the paper and her name was in it. We did this in December - she still complained about it to his sister last week. I know it's hard I've delt with a lot even before getting engaged (stories will blow your mind).
My fathers family didn't show up to my parents wedding. My parents paid all that money on their own just like the rest of us and didn't call or anything. Sent the RSVP's and then another fight came out and they didn't even go to the church.
Best thing to do is to keep trying b/c you'll be in the wrong no matter what.

Re: MOTHER IN LAW DRAMA
I am a firm believer that you should always be the bigger person. this way, nothing can ever come back to bite you in the *** and no one can ever point the finger at you. may be tough now, but in the long run it will be worth it...
