Re: Mother of the bride
well, my mom bought her gown for my sister's wedding this past summer at Lillettes for about $300.00 plus alterations. Our gowns were by Jim Hjelm and they were a very pale yellow with a plaid design at the bottom (for me and the other MOH) for the BM they had the same color scheme going but our top was their bottom and vice versa. (I need a scanner real bad so that I could post, now that I know how!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) but anyways, my mom wore a champagne/black gown. I guess it all depends on her budget and my mom did not have a big one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Mother of the bride
I went to over 15 stores looking for MOB gowns. Prices ranged from $300 to $4000. The fabric and the designer name pretty much determined the price. You can find nice styles in all price ranges. I found the Jovani gowns the most reasonably priced and they make enough varied styles for anyone's taste. Jovani's seem to run from $500 to about $1200. They have a very comprehensive website so your Mom can get an idea of what they look like.
It's a really rough decision. I actually had a much harder time than my daughter did with her gown. If I can be of further help just ask. Good Luck.
