Mother of the Bride dress

My wedding is somewhat formal and I was wondering if it is appropriate for my mother to wear black?

I agree w/ JennRenee, if you think it's ok- then go for it! My aunt wanted to wear black to her daughter's wedding because it made her look thin, she didn't think of how the color might give off the wrong impression. But my cousin was not comfortable w/ it.Do what is best for you and your mom.
