My mom found her dress (and several others she liked) at Lord & Taylor, particularly the one in the city. I'd also suggest Sax and Bloomies.

I recommend bridal reflections. Their dresses are nice and there is a seat in the dressing room for her to sit.

Hi, I just went to Paradise Bridal in Patchogue today and they had the most I have seen i a store. I printed out about 10 dresses over the weekend and they had every single one for me to try on. Good Luck

I have the same problem except that my FMIL is all the way in the Pocanos (PA). She can't seem to find a dress that she likes.

Metamorphosis in Smithtown has a great collection if you can make the trip to Suffolk.

Re: mother of the bride dress
Lord & Taylor and Macy's have a lot of nice dresses..... my mom bought 2 at L & T then found 'the one' at Macy's.
She bought and returned 6 dresses overall - and Macy's was the winner!

Re: mother of the bride dress
My mom and MIL both got their dresses at Lord & Taylor's in the city. They have tons of dresses and there is no need to order them. (Pics in my album of both of them). My step mother has MS and can't really walk all that well. She ordered a few things online from Nordstrom's and then returned the ones that she didn't want.
But you have to be good about mailing things back if you are going to return things online. I know I am terrible at that personally.

Re: mother of the bride dress
My FMIL bout her dress at Bridal Reflections. She is 82 and walks with a cane. They let use use one of the larger fitting rooms reserved for brides for me to help her get into and out of the dresses.

There are a few good ones in Brooklyn such as Lestans on Ralph Ave., Valentina's on New Utrecht Avenue, but my favorite is Doris on 18th Avenue. I got my dress for my son's wedding there and my FDIL's mom and sister just got their dresses there too. If you go call first and ask for Maria. Make your appointment early on Saturday morning (if that's when you will be going) or late afternoons during the week. Be sure you ask for Maria because she is wonderful...the other woman there, Lana, is not very nice, but Maria is helpful, nice and gives you an honest opinion.
Good luck.

Ya these stores are good if you are not looking for typical MOB dresses. My mom actually got hers at Talbotts. There are also some nice dresses at jcrew sometimes. Also maybe look in Macys and Nordstroms. For traditional ones Im really not sure though.

Re: mother of the bride dress
My Mom got her dress for my sis's wedding at Totally You: 3001 Merrick Road Bellmore, NY 11710 Phone Number: (516) 785-6533. They are very knowledgable and helpful.
Also try Lestans: 1902 Ralph Avenue, Flatlands Shopping Center, Brooklyn, New York • 718-531-0800. FH's entire family seems to find their perfect MOB dress there.
My daughters wedding in Great Neck 516-773-7778
Also, Sugarplums in Lynbrook.
