Mother of the Bride Dress

Hi. So after 11 stores (some with multiple trips) and 2 returned dresses my mom finally got a dress for my wedding!! She got her dress at Elena Bridal in Merrick. We went there a few times until my mom decided which dress she wanted. I just wanted to let you know that they have a nice selection of mother of the bride dresses with reasonable prices. Its a family owned shop and I thought they are very nice and extremely patient! I also noticed they have a nice selection of bm dresses (wish I looked there before I ordered my dresses at another store).

Thanks. My mom's dress was a little less than $500 w/o alterations. Another dress that she was looking at was around $350 w/o alterations. Not sure what price the dresses start at though. There was a wide range of prices depending on the designer and how much you wanted to spend. Also, the alterations there are capped. Some other places that we looked at the dresses were expensive. My mom really wanted a long sleeve jacket with a dress because she is always cold and we had a hard time finding a dress with a long sleeve jacket. Also, they were willing to custom make a jacket for her if we wanted which was nice because no other place we went to was willing to do this.

I am too and it's driving me nuts!! she refuses to go because she is too afraid of seeing herself in a dress without losing weight. On top of that, she feels she should just 'blend in' the day of my wedding and has been looking in JC Penney and Catherine's for dresses!!! This is totally frustrating!

On the other side, I went with MOG a few months ago to Totally You in Wantagh and they were awesome. The dress was around $500 without alterations, and they have all sizes in stock so we took it home that day.

I've also been to Elena, I got a BM dress there for my friend's wedding, and they are great there!!
