Ok, my mom knows I come on here alot...So she actually wanted me to ask you girls and get your opinions...Since my girls are going to be in blue, my mom wanted to know if she was allowed to get a blue that matched the girls dresses. She thought she is suppose to be a shade lighter or darker in color than my bridesmaids. Has anyone heard of this being true?

I wanted to have my mother stand out from the girls. Since I am having a semi formal evening wedding my mother is wearing a black dress with a sash the color of the girl's dresses.
If your mom gets the same color it may look as if she is trying to be 'in' the bridal party. If she likes blue I would try an extreme either way like maybe a navy or baby blue so it is very diff but still in the blue family.

Well, my BM's are wearing black and my mom wanted to wear black as well. It is a tough one to say no or wear a different color, because everyone is comfortable in black and if that is what she wants to wear, so be it.
Does your mother have a dress picked out that is in the same color already or she just feels that she wants to match?
If I had a choice, I would say a different one, but whatever she is comfortable in is more important IMO.

My mom actually picked out her dress in Champagne and I said I loved it . But she wanted me to see what you guys thought about choosing the color.

IT is ok for her to wear the same color in a different shade,etc. She can also wear anything that will match blue

Theres no right or wrong on this one, but I would suggest that she not wear the same color as your girls. You want her to stand out, not blend in and look like she's one of your BMs.
I think the champagne would look very nice next to blue BMs. Its really a timeless and elegant color too.

I agree-champagne sounds very nice-can you post pics of her dress and the BM dresses?
