Mother of the bride dresses

Does anyone know a good dress shop that carries plus size MOB dresses....or just a large selection in general. I live in Smithtown and we're looking to stay within 25 minutes each way....we're going to Paradise bridal to look at one she already saw but want to go to a couple of places.... any ideas???

TIA!!

I have some advice....stay away from the bridal stores. Go to a great department store and find a fabulous dress there.
MOB dresses tend to be very done up.....sometimes very limiting.

100% agree!

My mom is a plus size as well and had a difficult time in the brial stores. She found a ton of stuff in Macy's and now she's just trying to narrow it down to the one she likes the best.

its further than you want to go, but i highly rec My Daughters Wedding in Great Neck. My mom is plus sized and wants a simple dress, not a huge beaded ball gown! Sandy was the best. She picked out flattering dresses within the parameters of what my mom wanted and made her feel really comfortable while 'fronting' the dresses. its definately worth the trip!

My mom is starting to look again. Both of my brothers are married (one is Sept. 06 and one July 05) and she got both of her dresses at the Wedding Center in Commack and she is a plus size. She had a lot of luck there and was very happy! Try googling plus size MOB dresses to find designers and then see where you can get them. That's what she did. Goodluck!

Try Alta Moda in Bellmore. My friend's mom is plus-sized and she had the most gorgeous, flattering dress on her wedding day and she got it there. Amazing! My mom is going to go there also.

FYI:
Alta moda is ridiculously priced. The only nice dresses they carry are over $2500. The dresses priced for less (maybe 6 to choose from) were horrible.

Paradise Bridal has a great selection. Has she looked online to find anything she might like to see in person?

Try Metamorphasis in St. James. It's on 25A, I think in the T. Carlton shopping center. My mom got her dress there and said they have a really nice selection.

Totally You in Bellmore is amazing for MOB Dresses.

The selection is huge and the women are very helpful there

I am 99% sure they carry plus sizes as well
