when my mom originally got her dress, I was thinking of having my bridesmaids dresses in a teal color - so my mom got her dress in a navy blue. Then I changed my mind and picked a bright blue - like a marine blue.
Is it wrong to have my mom have a similar color to the bridemaids dresses? I actually think it is kind of nice since she will complement the bridal party color.

Whatever makes you happy--just make sure that your mom is OK with her color blending with the BM dress color as well! I think it sounds pretty, but I can just hear my mother nit picking about something like that .

I am just upset because I think my mom is upset, but I can't seem to find another color in that dress that I like
I am losing my mind right now because I don't want my mom to be upset !

I think that's fine. My mom wore brown to my bro's wedding and us girls in the BP wore brown dresses.

i don;t think there is anything wrong with having your mom in a similar color. my BM dresses are a pewter color and my mom is wearing a very dark slate color it is in the same family but i think it will look great in pictures. plus my mom feels really confident in the dress and that is also very important
