Hi everyone, I am the Mother of the Bride and I need your help. I am looking for a dress and am finding it hard. I have been to the usual places in nassau county. I am not familar with any places out east. Can some of you reccommend some places that have a large amount to choose from. Thanks.

Hi MOB! Welcome to LIW!! My mom got her dress at Lynbrook Bridal, it's in my album if you want to take a look! Another good place to look is My Daughter's Wedding in Great Neck. They have a ton of dresses, but they are a little pricy. I actually took my mom there last year for my brother's wedding and we found the dress she loved from there somewhere else for $400 less!!

Have you tried Totally You in Wantagh? FMIL had a very hard time finding a gown and then we went here and had a dress in minutes-for a great price too! There's also Lidia's in Copiague-great customer service here-my BM's and my mom got their gowns here. Im sure you went to Estelle's in Farmingdale.

If you don't mind driving to Brooklyn there are a few good places for you to look.
Lestan's on Ralph Avenue Doris on 18th Avenue (I got my MOG dress there) Valentina's on New Utrecht Avenue
And so many more.
Good luck!

Re: mother of the bride need help
Before moving out to the island I lived in bensonhurst W. 6th street and kings highway. My parents and brother still live in Brooklyn so I go and visit and still shop there and of course go to DiFara's for Pizza.

Hi!
My mom got her dress at a gourgeous botique in Babylon Village called Omni Bus Fashions. It is family owned and the service is excellent.
If you're willing to venture 'out east' to Suffolk then you could try these places: Bridal Suite of Bayshore Bridal Suite of Centereach Paradise Bridal in Patchogue
My mom got her dress at Helen's Bridal in Commack, but I wouldn't say they have a large selection.

how about going to NYC to RK bridal? they have lots of formal gowns...
Also, if you haven't already, check out estelle's in farmingdale, and some of the major dept stores, like nordstrom's.

There's also a Bridal Suite in Huntington, my mother ger her dress there for my sisters wedding. We don't know where she's going for mine. She keeps on saying, my dress is more important and I haven't found one yet.

Re: mother of the bride need help
HI, I'm a Mother of the Bride also. I got my gown at Princess Bridals, on Hempstead Tpke. in Farmingdale. The wedding is in Nov. I ordered the gown in April, was told it would be in in July. I called there for something the other day and they said my gown would be in either the end of this week or beginning of next week!! Good luck.

Re: mother of the bride need help
My mom got hers at Estelles. She went a few weeks in a row (they change their gowns very often) & have a wide-ranging selection from the inexpensive to the much more expensive. She tried on EVERYTHING & found a beautiful dress that I would never had picked out. I would reccommend going back here a few times while you search.
Lestans also has a large selection.
My FMIL found a dress at a boutique in Bayside, Queens. I think it was located on Bell Blvd. She weighs a bit less than my mom, but it makes a big difference in dress size....so this was easier for her.
Good luck.
