Mother/Daughter Dance

Hi Ladies,

Has anyone done (or is planning to do) a dance with your mother? My parents separated when I was very young and my mother raised me. My dad is still in the picture but I only see 2-3 times a year. I feel like I may want to share that dance with her... Anyone else in the same boat?

I am probably doing a mother/daughter dance instead of the father/daughter dance too.

I'm doing both...my mom is walking me down the aisle though. She was the one that raised me and has every right (sounds weird) to 'give me away'

I am also thinking of having my mom walk me down the aisle- or at least both. I agree- I feel she has the 'right' too..

I'm glad I'm not the only one :)

good thing u asked this question was also a concern of mine.. i wanted to dance with my Mom ( my dad is not in the pic) she too is walking me down the asile.. I also have 2 daughters one from my hub now and an older from a previous relationship they will be my flower girls.. i kind of want them to walk right in front of me while I am next to my mom.. the illusion is like the most important women ( girls) in my life are walking me down..

I wanted to dance with my mom but idk bc i know FH's mom is not going to be attending and I kind of feel bad having a moment that he will not.. i dont want him to feel bad that his mother is not there ( long story) so i may not do any dance at all..

I am doing this.. and i think i am using the same song! My dad has never been in the picture so i will have my mom walk me down the aisle and i will have a dance with her during the reception!

My mom is walkiing me down the aisle and I'm having a mother/daughter dance with her! I think she deserves to have the privelage to walk me down the aisle since she raised me

This was the song that I was going to use too - it was the song I used for my mom's candle at my sweet 16 (many years ago LOL)

My father passed away in June, so I am doing a mother-daughter dance, but with a picture montage tribute to my father on the TV screen. My mother will also be walking me down the aisle along with my brother. I haven't chose a song yet, but I'm thinking of that 'In my Daughter's Eyes' song, forgot who sings it ...

I didn't plan a mother/daughter dance but when the DJ played 'Isn't She Lovely' by Stevie Wonder I grabbed my mom and we danced together. No one else was on the dance floor at the time.
