Mother's Day?

My sister Nicole is 30 and she is a new Mommy. This is her first Mother's Day and it dawned on me that I should get her something. DUH! What should I get her????? I really am at a loss here. Can people please suggest what they got their Sister's or Mom's so I can gather ideas?

Also, what did you get your FMIL?

i think you should get her either something cute for the baby, or like a spa package or something like that...

and as far as FMIL goes... i would get her a picture frame with a picture of you and her son in it.

my ex-fmil liked that.

but i'm going to steal your thread for a moment and ask you a question myself...

im not gonna be in NY for mothers day, i'm gonna be in FL with my mom... do i get something for my boyfriends mother? we've been dating since september... i got her a card but i dont know if i should get her a gift... do you have any suggestions?

FMIL was easy . . .her hubby hates to eat out, so we all went to dinner tonight (three of us) and downed dinner and two bottles of wine . . . she said it was the best gift she could have.

Sis is harder. I would imagine (from my bro and SIL experience) honestly, just BE THERE that day . . . . if you can, of course. No gift for a Mom is better than helping them realize that they have a family, new and old, and the focus is on that little one . . . . go over and cook for her, change diapers with her, tell her what a natural mom she is.

Of course, jewelry is also always nice . . . . .

I chipped in with my 4 brothers and FH to get my mother a bracelet with all of our birthstones and our names engraved on the links..

I just got my sister a card and wrote her a really long letter, it made her cry..she just got it today. On Mothers Day I'll get her some flowers :)

FMIL - LOVES to shop, so we got her a giftcard and we're going to take her out shopping...

Some other suggetions:
The fruit bouqets, they look like flower arrangements but are made of fruit..they are so pretty and yummy!!

Gift Cert for a spa?

A photo package so she can take pics with the new baby?

Flowers?

Pictures frames?

What about cute home-made giftcerticates saying stuff like 'Free Babysitter for one nite' etc...

Thanks for the suggestions. MMM, the first year Pat and I started going out, I gave his Mom a plant. It was a lily or an orchid or something. She really liked it a lot. It was a nice simple gift that she liked a lot.
