Mother's dresses?

My mom is really having a hard time finding a gown. We went to Sugarplum and Macy's so far. She's looking for a simple but elegant dress. ANt ideas of places to go would really be appreciated. Thank you!

Where do you live? My mother got her dress from Dorothy Walsh... it is in Northport.

I haven't heard of either store, are they small boutiques? I'm in Massapequa, but she's in Deer Park. I'll go anywhere as long as there's a good selection! Thank you!

There are a few nice, but pricey, boutiques in Woodbury. My mom got her dress in Woodbury Commons at Boutique Elle. There is another great dress store next door to that, but I don't remember the name.

Thank you all for the suggestions. We tried department stores in Walt Whitman today and Estelles. Not much luck. Next I will try Omnibus and Totally You.
