I had the same problem. My dad isn't around, so I'm dancing with my mom. The girls were a HUGE help. You'll get great song ideas.

my FMIL loves I hope you dance by LeeAnn Womack... personally though, I hate it but LOL that might just be b/c of how I feel about my MIL at times!!
i went to a wedding where they danced to i will always love you, which i would have never thought of but it was so nice!!! when they first started to play it EVERYONE in the room went AWWWW and OOOOH.
through the years is always a very nice song by kenny rogers because the words are nice and also, the wind beneath my wings is pretty-always makes me cry lol.
good luck!! hope that helps a bit!!

I found an awesome song for my mom. It's kinda of country. It's called Somebody's Hero by Jamie O'Neal. Check it out it is awesome.

My dad is a big Beatles fan - I was thinking of using this for our father.daughter dance.

Visit: w e d a l e r t . c o m
My MIL/Husband picked: In your Eyes / David Chamberlain
When I look back on my childhood days
I feel so blessed in so many ways
You gave your love with every smile
with every touch
Somehow I knew that you believed in me so much

In your Eyes I’d see
A special love for me
In your heart, the trust, you gave so easily
All that you inspired
Kept me reaching higher
In your Eyes I’d see
The man I was meant to be

A dream came true when she said I do
You smiled at her - it was then I knew
That your blessing will be ours for all our lives
Your faith in us is shining in your eyes

and In your Eyes I see
That special love for me
In your heart the trust, you give so easily
All that you inspire
Keeps me reaching higher
In your Eyes I see
The man I was meant to be

You gave me roots that run so deep
You gave me wings to fly
I’ve never thanked you half enough
As the years went flying by…..

Chorus

My DH danced with his mother to 'Now and Forever' from Carole King.

NOW AND FOREVER:

Now and forever
you are a part of me
And the memory cuts like a knife
Didnt we find the ecstacy
Didnt we share the daylight
When you walked into my life
Now and forever
I'll remember all the promises still unbroken
And think about all the words between us
That never needed to be spoken
We had a moment
Just one moment
That will last beyond a dream,
Beyond a lifetime
We are the lucky ones
Some people never get to do
All we got to do
Now and forever
I will always think of you
Didnt we come together
Didnt we live together
Didnt we cry together
Didnt we play together
Didnt we love together
And together we lit up the world
I miss the tears
I miss the laughter
I miss the day we met
and all that followed after
Sometimes I wish I
could always be with you
The way we used to do
Now and forever
I will always think of you
Now and forever
I will always be with you

'A Wedding Song for my Son'--I don't know who sings it.

Re: Mother/Son Dance

My FH is a big Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds fan, and they do a version of 'It's a wonderful world' (originally by Louie Armstrong) so that's theirs
