How do you all feel about moving out of the area? DH wants to leave the northeast....he hates his job and he can't find anything in his field. I personally love my job....make good $$$, but the house thing is really depressing. We have a condo....but at this point with the housing prices, we will be living here forever. He wants to leave...and I want to stay...my family is here, my job is here. But...I also love my DH and I don't want him miserable. For those of you that have left...or are planning to leave....how did you decide? Are you close with your families? I'm feeling really lost about this one....thanks.

Hi! I know how your DH feels. I'm DYING to get out of here! I really want to move to North Carolina. I did a few job searches and I wouldn't be making that much less money there. My FH is lucky, he can transfer anywhere in the country and keep his NY salary. Most of our family is here and we will miss them, but we have to look out for ourselves now. At first my FH didn't want to leave our families but we made a list of pros and cons an it is obvious from that list that the best thing we can do for ourselves is move. We have to wait until 2005 to get new vacation time (saving all of this years for the wedding/honeymoon) and then we will go there and explore the different areas. My FH's sister and her husband and kids live in Charlotte so at least we will know somebody. In another 1-2 years I hope to be there

That's the thing Julz....we don't know anyone at these places (unless it's Florida) and I'm so scared that I would miss my family so much. Already...I live in NJ and I miss alot of stuff because everyone else lives so close on LI. I don't know....I just feel like I want to make DH happy, but in turn I might make myself miserable.

We moved to Florida. We live near Disney so we have family coming to visit us all the time. Missing our family was the only con, but since they do get to visit us its not sucha con anymore. We got a lot more house for our money then we could have if we stayed in New York. Honestly, I LOVE it. I really thought I would be a lot more homesick but I'm not.
This is what I said....if we move near Disney...the people will definitely visit us!

This is true...sometimes I wish we lived farther to get away from all the family things. My parents get so happy to see me when I visit and I only live 1 hour away! I don't know....I'm not good at meeting new people...so I guess I'm very scared as to what life will be like alone (only me and DH). Again....I have a great job that I love and I don't know if I want to give that up. What's a girl to do
