We're moving to Massapequa Park on Wed and I don't know who to call about transferring the water bill to!! I never had to deal with water before so I'm clueless. I called some number but it seemed like I couldn't get a live person! How much does water usually cost a month anyway?

ask your real estate agent - im sure they could give you the number (thats if you went thru one!) im at work so i dont have the number with me. it's so cheap. i think my bill is usually about $20 every other month. one of our cheapest bills...

I would call information and ask for the Nassau County Water Authority. I live in Suffolk so the number I have will do you no good. When we were moving into our house, I called them up and did everything over the phone. You just tell them that you are closing on the house on Wed and they will get everything set up for ya!!

I think it is New York Water Services or something similar - I can't really remember the name and I don't have my paperwork with me - but I could have sworn it was something along those lines. I called like 2 months ago! I think they bill bi-monthly and from what I hear it is pretty cheap but I have yet to get a bill. I only had to pay some kind of deposit and I think that was either $50 or $75.
But really - the real estate should provide that info!! (Mine didn't either but the previous owner did.)
