FH's aunt is

divorced
then remarried
then widowed

current last name= widowed last name

I had the same issue and did not know what to do...it is my great great aunt...I did neither I just did Jane Smith no Ms. no Mrs. I doubt she will even care and I was sick of worring lol I am not sure if this will help but it is what I did.

Mrs. most-recent-last-name (name of deceased husband)

I think it's always mrs. for a widow.

Well, technically if you use Mrs. it should be Mrs. John Smith, not Mrs. Jane Smith. Since he is deceased, I would use Ms. Jane Smith. My mom is widowed and I wouldn't address the envelope to Mrs. George Jetson, I'd address it to Ms. Judy Jetson

so... Ms. not Mrs.

hth

unless someone is currently married and being invited with their significant other, I'm going use Ms. instead of Mrs. (divorced and widowed women)
