Ms. Flow

Sorry ladies have to vent. I got Ms. Flow 2x this month not a happy camper. Now im doing my calcuation and look like i will be getting it right before my wedding. I called my Gyno and they told me that they cant do anything to prevent it from coming that month besides bc. Mind you that when i do take bc they make my menustral cycles irregular. So i dont know what to do. I have an appt with him April 7 and maybe he can recommend something to me. I wont have it so heavy but i will still have it and dont want to have it/or have to worry about it. ugggggg sorry ladies.

So if you cannot stop your flow, there is a product you can try. Instead

I have used them in the past, and they work great. Better than using a pad or tampon.

Re: Ms. Flow

What b.c. did you use that made your periods irregular??It could have just been that specific brand of b.c. Talk to your doctor and let him/her know that the last b.c. you used made your periods worse.

I had an issue with VERY heavy periods that lasted for 7-8 days. I was put on b.c. and my periods are light and only last 4 days now. Also, my friend told me a way to prevent getting your period while on b.c. is by starting a new pack after the first 3 weeks, rather than going a week off it then starting a new pack.

Hope this helps!! Good luck mama!!

I tried evey BC besided the shot and the patch. I always had regular periods that last about 5-7 days average. He is aware of this and told me that in some cases BC might just do the opposite and that is what is happening to me. One week i get it the next week i wont then a couple of days goes and i get it again. So frustating. So i stop it and now FH and i play russian roulette lol. But i will talk to him again and see what he has to say

Re: Ms. Flow

I'll be getting my period the week before my wedding. however, my honeymoon is one month long, and iwill get my period again during that time. it sucks, but really, there is nothing i can do. and since we are trying to get pregnant after we come back from the honeymoon, i don't want to start messing up my cycles by skipping a week on birth control.
hopefully i'll have a lighter period than normal.
and so will you!

Re: Ms. Flow

FYI- you cannot extend your period while using tri-phasic birth control pills, like ortho tricyclens. Only on monophasic pills you can extend the months.
Tri-phasic is three different hormones instead of mono-phasic, one set of hormones.

I did hear you can do this with Nuvaring, but some Dr's don't like approve it.

Re: Ms. Flow

I was just doing my calculations last night too

It works out so that I'll get it on the HM which is worse than having it for the wedding IMO. I was thinking about b.c. to prevent it altogether that month, but dont know if it's ok to just go on b.c. for 2 months or so. I'm gonna set up an appt with my OBGYN and see what he says....being a woman sucks sometimes!

Re: Ms. Flow

I think I'm getting it right before the wedding. If not, def on the honeymoon. SOOOOOOO sad. I'd rather have it on the wedding day or at the end of the honeymoon. If I get it right at the beginning, i'm going to have it all week!

I'm on b.c. and my period is barely 2 days and so light I only need a pantiliner. Plus, my Gyno okayed me skipping the placebo week if I have a vacation planned or something and don't want the hassle of a period. It's so worth it!
