Why not? Don't you thing your BP wants to be felt special too? Not just focusing all the attention on you and FH. It's courteus to announce them and show some sort of recognition.

they are being recognized for all of their support/help by being given gifts the night before and having us make a speech etc... FH and I are not trying to focus all the attention on us, we would rather not be announced if possible, but I know we have to be... We are just the type of people who prefer to be more low key about things and don't want this wedding to be a circus. And our bridal party will not care. I have been in numerous weddings and I wouldn't have minded not being annouced. Personal choice.
