I have a band for my reception but same questions applies if you have a dj. How many songs do you give the band or dj to play and how many slow songs do you think are played at a wedding on average?
I know that some people say let them play what they think is good but of course I love like 30 songs on the song list and I rather hear lots of songs that I love. I just don't know how many songs they play.

Well, we're having the same band, so this might help.
I am going to take their song list and show them what I like. But more important to me is what I don't want them to play. I think that gives them a better idea of what I like.

I'm pretty sure you can request a song list of specifics that you would like so they know what you want them to play. Definitely include the ones that are an absolute NO and then give them some maybe's or second choices to help create the exact vibe you are looking for. They will put them in an order based on how they musically flow... but you can request whatever you want!

Our Dj gave us a list of all different songs and we circled the ones we liked. I also went through my Ipod and wrote down the songs I wanted played.
