Musically Incompatible Couple
So truth be told my FH and I are living proof that opposites do indeed attract. Musical stylings happens to be one thing we are on POLAR opposite ends of the spectrum on. So I'm asking you ladies for some inspiration/ideas. What are you using for:-Ceremony BP processional/recessional
-First dance song
-And anything else you've decided!
I know some of you may read this and think, 'This chick is crazy. She has a year for music.' However, since that blissful day in May (the 7th to be exact!) we got engaged we have vetoed OVER 100 first dance wedding songs. Now I'm sure you think I may be being a tad dramatic, but scout's honor, over 100 songs already out the window! Please help us! Lol.

FH and I are EXACTLY like you guys. He likes anything from the 80's back and I'm a top 40 person. I had to finally compromise with him and choose a song that I like from the 60's in order to make him happy. We are also doing a second song that is my choice. As far as our ceremony is concerned, he is a huge Beatles fan so I'm surprising him with all Beatles songs for the ceremony. Another thing we did was on our response card we had a spot that said 'I promise to dance if you play...' I know a lot of these songs won't get played but people have actually been putting bands or artists they want to hear so its an easy way to tell the dj a little of what people are interested in.HTH

For our ceremony the bridal party is walking into Ingrid Michaelsons version of Can't help falling in love and I am walking in to The Luckiest by Ben Folds. For the recessional we are using All you need is love by the Beatles. For entrances we are using Don't stop the Party by pitbull for the parents, On the the next one by Jay-z for the bridal party and Crazy in love by Jay-z and Beyonce for FH and I.
Our first dance is Let's stay together by Al Green.
We had a tough time picking the entrance songs, but our first dance was easy because we both wanted something that was a classic. FH let me pick all of the ceremony music.

For our first dance we are having the same issue!!!! And fh and I are the same total opposite in music so we decide that whatever song we choose we are going to have our band play a rock version of it as a compromise for each other. I totally get where you are coming from!

Our first dance was Love Song by 311. Our bridal party walked into the reception to Love and Marriage by Frank Sinatra.
