Must haves for a BBQ

We're having a BBQ next weekend, and I'm trying to figure out what we need. Here's what I am planning on getting so far (thanks to Costco):

hot dogs
hamburgers
salad
potato salad
beer
water
soda
cookies
chips

Costco has bags of frozen chicken tenders (unbreaded - just fresh frozen) that are great on the BBQ for those wanting something other than Hots & Hams. I marinate them in Lawry's Lemon Herb marinade for an hour or so, then as they are grilling, keep brushing on the marinade to keep them from drying out. They are always a big hit.

Also good to have are:

Grilled Sausage
Veggies & Dip
Fruit, like grapes, or a fruit salad
Brownies or Cupcakes
Costco also has a great Cheescake
Corn chips and salsa
FRESH CORN ON THE COB! In season now!
Lemonade or Iced Tea

corn on the cob on the grill!!!

Soak it in salted water for an hour or so, and then put them on the grill...without peeling.....When the husks are brown, time to eat!! its THE BEST!!!!

Also, some fresh tomatoes, sliced and marinated in italian dressing with a piece of mozzarella cheese on top...or tomatoes sliced with pesto and mozz chees on top!! easy and delicious!!!

Re: Must haves for a BBQ

it's funny, my MIL and I were going over the menu today for the big Labor Day party that they do each year (and I usually man the grill

i would say for the non 'chip and pretzel' eaters, maybe a cold celery/carrott/broccoli platter, with a light dip.

And for the meat, you don't want to overdo it. Hamburgers and hot dogs are a must and then one other meat. Possible suggestions could be:

Chicken
Ribs
Sausage and Peppers
Steak Pinwheels

potato salad or macaroni salad is good (i usually prefer potato), then a regular salad, possibly some corn on the cob
