I am trying to compile a list for the band...what are some songs that you definitely want played at your reception?

Definitely some 70's songs.....I love earth wind and fire...september, staying alive, donna summer songs. i could go on and on and on.....

ok don't laugh, but here are a few I've thought of, I want to give our DJ a range of stuff so they have an idea of our taste:
Fired up by Funky Green Dogs (what a weird name!)
I'll fly with you by Gigi D'Agostino
Late in the evening- Paul Simon
Send me on my way- Rusted Root
American Girl- Tom Petty
Is this love (....'that I'm feeling'- not sure of the exact name of this one) by Bob Marley
anything by Sean Paul
some Beatles stuff- particularly- 'Saw her standing there'
Doo Wah Diddy- oldies song (this is what happened to be playing when FH proposed!)

My fh and have what we call our songs and we will play them Ex. Shelter: Ray Lomantagne Love and Devotion: Mishka etccc Not very popular but we like them But you should also let the band know the songs you don't want. I told my band/dj to play the chicken dance. Heard it once you heard too many times. Good luck

I need so much help with mine! FH is afraid that I am going to tell the DJ to play all Billy Joel songs!!! I love Billy but his songs aren't really party songs. I actually took out my DJ list last night and ended up staring at the blank page for quite a while.

We are having a mixture of different types of music.
60's 70's 80's 90's Today's
We have not having too much of one type or Era of music.
There are 5 songs that we did tell the DJ were a requirment.
