My photog asked me to send her a list of: shots that are absolutely essential to take on wedding day & formal photos if i want them taken.
So Im not sure what to include on what list...is it just that the formal ones are the ones that are set up/posed and are usually like me w/ my fam, me and fh w/ fam, fh w/ his fam, etc. And then the first list would be those like me getting ready, fh and guys getting ready, close ups of details, candids of me and fh, etc??
I have no idea where to start. Anyone have their lists to share?
ETA: sorry, didnt mean to have that surprised face next to the post before.

08 crash...sorry.
I would say to look at your photog's website and see if there's anything that you're completely in love with. Or look at other photog's websites. In my album I have must take photos--I just think the angles/closeups/effects on them are awesome.
Good luck!

Re: 'must take' photos Qu
Are there any pics that you really want your photog to take that day. Obviously he/she knows to take the normal ones but do you have any special ones that you want them to take. For example, it is really important to me that FH and I get a pic with our two grandmothers. Also, I want a pic of me and my FSIL because we are both going to have the same name - we have the same first name and once I get married we will have the same last name so I thought that would be a cute pic. Things like that you should write down for your photog because the day of your wedding is going to be such a whirlwind, you might not remember to take them but your photog will.

Re: 'must take' photos Qu
thx girls!! got it.
i def want a pic of the sand as the mix for the sand ceremony and presenting the family medallion to fh's son to represent us becoming a fam..i think i have a better idea of what i need to put for that list.
so for formal, those are the posed fam ones or what?? what are you including for that type of list? she said they can take between 5-10 mins so be aware for how much time they will take up depending on how large the fam is and how many ppl you have to go rally up to come get in. maybe ill just list a few for that.

Formal are usually the posed shots of your bridal party and his family and yours. They also include the ones of you and him that aren't candid. Generally the photographer knows which shots to take but if there are special shots like I want to show off my shoes, then you need to tell them about those or show them examples you like.

Absolutely DO NOT give the photographer a list as big as the ones above. IF they are a professional wedding photographer they will KNOW 'Bride with Mom'.
Save for your list shots that they wouldnt naturally think of or people that are special outside of your family.
If you give them too many administrative details to focus on, they wont be focusing on your wedding and the pictures they should be taking. A short list of no more than 20 photos I would think.

Oh, I know. I wouldnt plan on giving those lists verbatum, but it helps me an idea. I'll be picking really impt things that she may not know to think of.
