My 02/22/02 wedding - long

I justed wanted to come back and give my reviews. I am off to my honeymoon tomorrow.

Hair/Makeup - Elena did my hair and makeup. There were some issues and I wound up being about 15 minutes late for the photographer but all in all everything worked out. It was very helpful to have someone come to me. If you are using her just make sure to speak up. She is very accomodating and will do whatever you want.

Dress - Made by Karin Yngvesdotter. She did a great job and it was a lot of fun creating it from scratch.

Limos/Party Bus - Royalty. Very good service and friendly guys.

Guest Bus - Skyliner - I used them for the rehearsal dinner and the day of the wedding to shuttle out of town guest. They were good except that the day of the wedding the driver didn't know all the stops we were making. He had to be told by one of my guests.

Flowers - Pedestals in Mineola. I worked with Danny and my flowers were great. I would highly recommend them.

Reception - The Carltun - By far my best choice. Everything was top of the line. It was just the greatest experience I have ever had with a place. We had the afterhour party and it was outstanding. If you can swing it budget wise I would definitely recommend it. We kept cost down a bit by having a Friday night reception in February.

DJ - Spin Around Sound - They were good but to be honest I was so busy speaking to everyone that I definitely wasn't paying 100% attention. I did get compliments from guests and I know in the beginning of the evening they were playing great music.

Cocktail music - We hired a piano player for our Cocktail hour. He was great. I forgot his full name but his first is Charles.

Tuxes - Baldwin Tuxedos in NYC. There was some issues but general they were good.

Video - Wild Rose - Won't know until I see the final product by I have high expectations. Bill was a pleasure to have around.

Photos - Chuck from Fine Art - Once again don't know what the finished product will be but he was great the day of the wedding.

I think that is it for now. Feel free to ask as many questions as you want but I won't be able to respond until I get back from my honeymoon in Kauai and Maui.

Overall I would recommend all my vendors. Good luck to everyone.

Congratulations! Could you elaborate...

on the issues you had with Elena.

How many girls did you have? How long did it take?

I have booked her so I would love to hear it all - good and bad.

Same question as Stephanie. What issues did you have with Elena. She is my one vendor I am very nervous about.
My e-mail is [email protected] in case you do not want to post the information publically.
Thanks.

Congrats to you and your husband!! Sounds like you had a great day. That's so nice that you had your dress made from scratch. I am going to Karin Yngvesdotter for alterations, as soon as my dress comes in. I spoke to her and she sounds wonderful. Any other feedback on her??

Questions about Guest Bus

I contacted Skyliner for transportation for my guests as well - they seem to be the most reasonable. Did you find any other companies that were comparable? Congratulations and Best Wishes!!!! Hope your enjoying yourself on the honeymoon!
