My 14 month old wont stop stratching!

We have known for a while she has exema and i mosturize her skin at least 3 times a day , only take her in the shower with me times a week( as directed by dr) and use elidel on her when ever it gets really bad but the thing is ...

even when her skin is fully mostirized she still scatches ...she has this one nail that she hasnt let me cut in like 2 weeks now( im felt like i was goona snap her finger if i kept trying before ) so this morning she wakes up i go in the room and see blood all over her finger nails and her she tore up a spot on her ankle .. it looks painful but she doesnt seem to be bothered and i find that strange ...i called the drs office and i got a busy signal twice already (busy office ) I still plan on calling again but im wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem ....its like she likes stratching her self ...when she gets tired she scrathes , when she gets mad or upset she scratches ....and beforee she got mad at me and she dug her nail into my hand as if she new it was goona hurt me

see if the dr can prescribe a cream for her.
Julianne has sensitive skin too and I was told to only use dove soap on her...and eucerin lotion or acquafor.

side note, I tend to be a scratcher. When stressed, I tend to scratch my legs ..sometimes until they bleed. Dont do it often...but it was hell when I was pregnant and had PCOS.

maybe try an icepack wrapped in a thin towel and apply to the area that she scratches?
that helps me...

yes the only soap i can use on her is dove unscented ...and i use acqufor mostly and eucrin when its not that bad.

thanks i ll def try the ice back idea , i really dont think she'll be to cooprative but its worth a shot.

can u try to cut her nail while she is sleeping?? What else did the doctor say about it??

Hope the two of you feel better!!

i just hope she sleeps through the night cause i only got 3 hrs oh sleep last night so i just took some night quil now to help me sleep.

It doesent look like shes catching what i have thank god .. but i think she is teetheing again to ...she already has like 7 teeth and i see more comming in .

o thats ruff...I know when I babysit my nephew for an all niter, I somehow always get him when his teething is the worst or has a runny nose....so get some sleep...but they always manage to wake up early in the morning and cheer u up somehow....buts its ok ...when my nephew does that to me...i cant help but smile and give him a big hug and kiss! today he's officially 1yrs old, and has 8 teeth!!
