My 18 yr old 2nd cousin got engaged....

My 18 yr old 2nd cousin got engaged....

She's just a baby!!!! She just graduated high school and just turned 18!!!!!!!

She lives in Indiana so I don't even know much about the guy... I knew she had a boyfriend, but I figured it was a HS boyfriend thing!!!

I don't know if I'm freaked out because she's so young or if its making me feel old!!!!!!!

i can do you 1 better - my 23 year old cousin got married!!! her husband ( its weird to say that) got deployed to afganistan ( army) a six months after they met. so they decided to get married before he left. i felt about 100 when i found out.

18 seems a bit young. I don't know about the 23 year old. I'll be 24 when I get married and I'm NYC born and bred. It happens for different people at different ages. I can't imagine making that decison at 18 though, not any more than some of you can imagine making it at 21 (how old I was when I got engaged)...

My FI's sister was engaged in high school and got married at 19. She's 22 now and surprisingly still married. Her husband is 26. It was strange to see her engaged and get married to someone she knew less than a year. To top that off my FH and I had been dating for about 4 years and we were not even close to being engaged! And we never heard the end of it from his family- ' so when are you to getting married/engaged?'

I was just 5 days shy of my 24th b-day when I got married and I dont feel that it was too extreme, was graduated from college for 2 years already. My husband and I were together for 5 years before we got married though.

It does make you feel old. My 20 yr old second-cousin from down south just had a baby as well (but not married)...actually when I started to type this I only thought he was 18 but took a minute and realized that he is already 20...so now I feel even older. My mom laughs because her god-daughter is a grandma first and me and my siblings are 6-11 years oldher than her god-daughter's oldest!

i have been noticing ALOT of young girls getting married and having kids, etc. Sometimes I look on the knot, and since it is national there are all types of people on there. Many of them are 20, 21 and married with a HM baby on the way!

My little sister (the one that has to have all the attention) got engaged about 3 months after I did. She was only 17. It never panned out though, but she is still with the guy but I don't think they are engaged anymore.

So true!! It's really surprising sometimes!
