My 2nd doc visit ...
Well, earlier this evening was my second doctor visit, the first 'real' appointment (after getting over the shock at the first appt. that I was actually pregnant).
I went through all the family histories and made some decisions on the tests I would like to have completed (CF, AFP, etc.). My doc is affiliated with Winthrop, South Nassau and North Shore Manhasset and we are chosing to have the baby at Winthrop.
I had 5 vials of blood taken, which seemed relatively easy and painless (I am not one for giving blood). Hubby got all green watching the nurse do this, so I know I will have a hard time getting him to be with me during labor and delivery (but that's another post for another time!).
Then I had my second sono (first was at 6 weeks, I am at 9 weeks now). First, I must say wow! The size difference is just incredible in just the 3 weeks that have passed. We were able to see the heart beating (170 beats per minute) and the doc pointed out the leg and arm stubs. Then we saw the baby move and it almost looked like it was boxing, throwing a few punches. (Gotta be a boy I thought!). He said everything looks wonderful, we were both estatic!
My due date is still as he predicited on the first sono - May 25th. I am not as nervous now, seeing it all progress. I might be jinxing myself now, but I don't feel pregnant - well, except being exhausted all the time. Other than that, knock on wood, no moring sickness and I'm feeling good.
Just wanted to share. Probably won't be around until Saturday to post again (unless work decides to unblock LIW)..... Again, a post for another time!
