My 4/12/03 Wedding Review!!!

Woo Hoo! I’m married! It was a fantastic day and turned out just as I would have wanted it. Ok, so the weather was dreary and rainy all morning, but it turned itself around with time so I could do my outdoor pictures and not have a single guest get wet! I am so happy to be married! I will have pictures soon and will share them then.

My HUSBAND and I had a great time and so did all of our guests. Everyone loved the food (all vegetarian) and the dancefloor was full all night! People have been sending emails and leaving voicemails to say how wonderful the wedding was and how they loved all the little touches!!! People do notice!

Brittany & Co. – A+
Did a fantastic job for my hair and nails. I used my usual girl, Chris, for my hair and she knew just what to do (also couldn’t beat her price!) and her sister for my nails. My hair made it all night, with the veil in (which was tugged on all night by guests hugging me!).

Marie Alexa Cosmetics – A+
She did both my mother and myself. My make-up looked great on us and stayed through the night (except when my mother cried hers off and told me it was burning her eyes during our mother-daughter dance). She sells her own line of cosmetics and the lipstick I got was really nice.

Lillette’s – A++
Another happy bride. Geri was great and the dress came out beautiful. It came in 3 months early and fit me great. I had it bustled under which I loved, but the snaps did need to be redone throughout the night. People stepped on that dress so many times.

Bonaventure Tuxedo – A+++
They were wonderful! Andrew was so nice throughout everything and truly went out of his way. He made sure my husband’s vest had a spot removed (after 2 cleanings it came out) to make sure DH had the white vest to match the GM and he ordered a husky coat for my RB. They were so helpful there all the way through! Nice, clean tuxedos too.

A Unique Rolls Royce – A+
Sydney was wonderful. I had won an LI Weddings prize at the first ever GTG and got the ’66 Phantom V Rolls at a great price and we got our limo through him. The cars were clean, on time, and knew where they were going (I gave direction sheets to everyone!). Sydney even came with me to the dry cleaner but that is another story!

Clark Botanical Gardens – A+
Beautiful place and we were not disturbed at any time. Nobody even bothered us to check out permit. I just wish it was more in bloom!

Flower Michele Florist – A++++
John and Michele are wonderful!!! I love everything they arranged. The flower were simply beautiful. Words can describe how gorgeous all the roses were and how nice he made the site look! John come with the highest of recommendations! The only thing is that nobody knew where my tossing bouquet was when it came time to give it away?! I had to give away a kind bridesmaids The flowers still look beautiful today!

Mormille Florist – A++
They are just so nice at Mormille! I won a prize for them at the first LIWeddings GTG and they provided my altar arrangements. Very nice flowers and all done over the phone.>.everything was taken care of! They are great at Mormille!

Spelman Studios – A+++
As we all say in our reviews, I don’t have the proofs yet, but Christine, Kathleen, and Karen were wonderful to work with. They were so nice and were so attentive to the events of the day. I never felt bothered by them and barely noticed they were there at the reception. I think we will have so gorgeous pictures and I can’t wait to see them. Christine showed me some previews of the digitals on the camera and some looked like they came out of a magazine! I highly recommend Spelman!

Spin Around Sound – A+++
Tom and James were just great!!! They kept my dance floor hopping all night and kept me dancing (which isn’t my usual!!). They came through with style and grace on some last minute things I gave to them. My guests of all ages were out there and we had fun! I got so many compliments on the music! I am so happy with my choice of SAS. I only thing is that at our meeting when we booked we discussed how I wanted the centerpieces given away. Tom never did anything to give them away so at the end of the night it became a free for all. He incorporated all of our family traditions and special songs in just the right ways!

15th & West/Phillip Stone Caterers – A++
The food was great and the site is just beautiful. People are still raving about the food and DH and I have so many left overs (which we look forward to eating!). The staff was on top of things and never skipped a beat. My guests kept complimenting me on the service. There was so much food! The site was neat and clean. My matire ‘d had everything in the right places!

The bakery Stone Caterers uses – A++++++
I don’t recall the name of the bakery but my wedding cake was out of this world (and I’m not big on cake)!!! It was eggless (at our request) and they made it was a raspberry mousse and puff pastery. It was like a Napoleon and was unbelievable. Kudos to the bakery!

Flowerama – A
They weren’t bad for my BM dresses. All of them came in quite large and needed a good deal of alterations. The dresses did come in about 6 weeks after ordering them (when they told us 5 months). That was a nice surprise. Staff was mostly nice and helpful.

The placecandles looked beautiful! All my guests were talking about them. The guests also loved the silver frame fronted photo albums (from Fortunoff who wrapped and gave me bows for each favor for free!!!). The menu cards on the easels were a nice touch and the table camera tags looked great. I am having the table cameras developed ASAP!

Now we are off to our honeymoon in Costa Rica. We leave in a few days. I can't wait! In & Out Travel were so helpful and had a woman there (Kathy) who knew Costa Rica very well, which made me comfortable booking with them.

All in all, it was one of the best days of my life and now I look forward to a life together with my husband.
