My 6/22 Bridal Shower Review! (LONG)
I thought I would have pics to share by now, but no one got any developed yet
So here is my review without pics, but hopefully they will come soon!
My shower was not a surprise, but that didn't take away from anything. It was held at my friend's parent's restaurant in Roslyn Heights, called To Fu (chinese/japanese). My sister (MOH) decorated the room with balloons are pretty flowers... it looked so nice! The food was also incredible... although I hardly ate anything, I was so busy talking to people. They gave us a lot of sushi, which was unexpected (I think my friend asked her parents to throw it in, it wasn't on the original menu). Everyone thought it was delicious!
My shower had a pastry chef theme, since baking is a big hobby of mine. My mom and my sister wrote a poem for me, and tied the poem to a wooden rolling pin. She passed the rolling pin around to the guests and had them all sign it and write something for me. It was such a nice idea! I know I'll keep it forever.
When I started to open my gifts, my best friend Liz (one of my BMs) asked me to open hers first. There were two gifts, one was a cake knife and server, which she had engraved with our names and date from Things Remembered. It was so beautiful! The next gift was in a big box... when I opened it, it was a huge quilt that she had made for me. Each square on the quilt was a piece of fabric that she had previously mailed out to all of the guests at my shower, asking them to create a nice message or picture that she would use to make the quilt. It took my breath away! To see all of the nice things that people said about Brian and I, and to see little pictures of brides and grooms that people drew for us all sewn together in a quilt was so touching. It was definitely one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me. She made me cry... she started crying too! I am going to find a tapestry rod and hang it up on the wall in my bedroom. You know, there's just really no one else in the world like your very best friend!
I got such wonderful gifts... too many to mention here! So many people were so thoughtful and created such sweet and unique gifts for me. It was such a great shower, but it went so FAST!! I guess what they say is true, 'time flies when you're having fun'! I can only imagine how fast my wedding day will fly by. Only 59 days to go!
